The 21st annual Three-State Invitational Marching Contest, normally held at Huntsville, was held at Heritage High School in Rogers on Oct. 10, and the Gentry Pioneer Pride Marching Band was among the top six bands to advance to the finals competition.

The Pioneers managed to play a respectable game with a very talented Shiloh team. As always, the players never gave up and continued to work on ways to improve. With Shiloh now behind us, our focus turns to Berryville. The Bobcats have just one win thus far, and according to Coach Bishop, are struggling to keep numbers up and players healthy.

Gentry turns to reserve, runs to beat Blackhawks

With its gunslinger on the bench the entire second half with a possible concussion, Gentry turned to a reserve quarterback and its running game to beat rival Pea Ridge 24-7 in a 1-4 A Conference game here Friday at waterlogged Blackhawk Stadium.

Decatur junior high team wins

The Junior Bulldogs won their first home game of the season against Western Yell County last Tuesday night by a score of 38-0.
