DECATUR The Decatur Junior Bulldog football season ended with a sigh.
The scheduled game with Union Christian was canceled by Union. The stated reason was the poor condition of their home field and the oncoming storms expected Thursday night. The forfeit gives the Bulldogs a win and brings their season to an end.
“I really hate to end the season like this. The boys were excited about making the trip and we were confident that we would beat Union again this year,” Coach Stan Ellis said.
“The boys played hard all year and I am proud of the effort they put into getting ready to play each week,” he added.
The Bulldogs ended the year 4-2 in conference and 4-4 overall.
